Job Description

Role Summary

The Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Architect to join our team. As a Cyber Security Architect, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure architecture for new and emerging systems, ensuring alignment with industry and government security frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate security risks and concerns.
  • Develop and implement security requirements and control analysis to ensure security by design.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists across ASIO and domestic and international partners to ensure the secure design and implementation of our technology ecosystem.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and different ways of working to ensure security requirements are at the forefront.
  • Represent IT Security on relevant governance boards and ensure security outcomes are prioritized and delivered.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in cyber security engineering, with experience in designing and implementing secure ICT enabled capabilities.
  • Knowledge of information security governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), security architecture concepts, cloud security, and DevSecOps.
  • Solid understanding of AWS security architecture concepts and knowledge and experience with cloud services such as containers, CI/CD pipelines, and secure code management.
  • Experience in the design, implementation, and/or maintenance of enterprise systems.
  • Strong security awareness and risk management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and technologies.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including negotiation, consultation, and representation.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to lead the delivery of secure outcomes in complex scenarios.
  • Relevant qualifications in cyber security and/or technical specializations are highly desirable.

These positions are located in Canberra, ACT & Sydney, NSW and applicants must be willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is provided to successful candidates where ASIO requires you to relocate.
