About Mental Health Care Coordinator Role

We are leaders in delivering comprehensive, integrated mental health services to adults and young people. Our goal is to enhance accessibility and promote holistic wellbeing by fostering collaboration among providers.

Better Connect aims to deliver person-centred care across the region through a hub and spoke model. This approach ensures community-based service delivery and addresses service gaps for those who require extra support.

Our diverse team includes professionals from various backgrounds, all working together to provide high-quality evidence-based clinical care as part of the multidisciplinary consortia team.

This role contributes to our mission by focusing on early intervention and support of young people up to the age of 25. You will have the flexibility to work 4 days per week or a 9 day fortnight, with the option to work from home one day a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote holistic wellbeing by considering broader determinants of health and fostering collaboration among providers.
  • Enhance accessibility and integrate primary mental health care, psychosocial support, and early intervention.

Requirements

  • Must have one of the following: Full AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse, General or Provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist, OR, AASW registration/eligibility as a Social Worker, OR, Level 2 ACA registration/eligibility.
  • Knowledge and understanding of theory underpinning evidence-based interventions and clinical practice, demonstrated excellence in practical application in areas of mental health and alcohol and drug use.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage with people and establish effective relationships with staff, clients, families & friends and stakeholders.
  • Experience in electronic client/customer management systems, desktop computer usage and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Eligibility to apply/currently hold a Blue Card for paid employment and NDIS worker screening clearance for paid employment.
