About the Role

The Consult Liaison Officer will engage in comprehensive consumer-focused mental health consultation, assessment, intervention, and training to ensure seamless care for consumers between mental health services, local public hospitals, and primary health and community sectors.

This role is a key position that requires an individual with strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive consumer-focused mental health consultations, assessments, interventions, and training to ensure seamless care for consumers.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each consumer.
  • Foster strong relationships with mental health services, local public hospitals, and primary health and community sectors to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Provide education and training to staff on mental health best practices and promote cultural safety.

Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A relevant degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or Registered Nursing.
  • Registration with the appropriate registration authority.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • High level of empathy and understanding of mental health issues.
  • Knowledge of mental health legislation and policies.
