The Role

We are seeking a skilled Key Clinician to join our Specialist Older Adult Consultation Service (SOACS) team at Broadmeadows. As a Key Clinician, you will play a critical role in optimizing the health and wellbeing of older adult consumers in the north. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide specialist aged mental health services, using your expertise and skills to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist aged mental health services to older adult consumers, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to identify the needs of older adult consumers.
  • Develop and implement interventions to address the mental health needs of older adult consumers, including anxiety management, supportive psychotherapy, and psychoeducation.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of aged mental health services.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, such as psychology, social work, or nursing.
  • Minimum 12 months of postgraduate experience in aged mental health services.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the issues faced by older people with a mental illness and their families/carers, with a sensitivity to the needs of people from diverse backgrounds.
