About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary mental health team at Western Health. As a key clinician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to adults over the age of 65, many of whom are experiencing challenging life circumstances.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide holistic and person-centered care to patients, incorporating a comprehensive assessment and treatment approach.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments, monitoring, and treatment of mental health, physical health, and risk factors.
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including histories and research on unfamiliar areas.
- Demonstrate sound clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning, and excellent problem-solving skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year's postgraduate work experience in mental health settings.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in mental health care.
