Senior Payroll Specialist

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced professional to oversee the full payroll function, ensuring compliance with industrial agreements and legislation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing weekly and monthly payroll, interpreting agreements to ensure accurate pay processing, handling payroll queries, and performing month-end reconciliations.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of awards and Fair Work legislation, as well as experience using large payroll systems. They will also possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

About the Role

This is a CBD-based office position within a well-established construction company. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on Tier 1 projects and contribute to a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end weekly and monthly payroll
  • Interpret industrial agreements to ensure accurate pay processing
  • Handle payroll queries and provide expert support
  • Perform month-end reconciliations and reporting
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a senior payroll role or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of awards and Fair Work legislation
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail
  • Experience using large payroll systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
