Overview

Stand-alone Payroll Officer – $95k/$100k + super. Flexible: work from home 1–2 days per week with Sydney/ Newcastle or Brisbane location options. This is a role for an experienced payroll professional taking sole ownership of end-to-end payroll processes for approximately 300 employees.

Responsibilities
  • Take sole ownership of end-to-end payroll processes for ~300 employees.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance and other teams as needed for smooth payroll operations.

Qualifications / About You
  • 5+ years of experience managing end-to-end payroll and confident in running the payroll department for 300+ employees.
  • Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Solid understanding of multi-state payroll requirements, awards, legislation, and taxation.
  • Experience auditing and managing payroll and timekeeping systems with high accuracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Clear, professional communication and the ability to partner effectively with HR, Finance and other teams.
  • Proactive mindset with a passion for process improvement.
