Job Overview:

The Parliamentary Services Team Lead role involves leading a team of professionals in providing exceptional support to the Attorney General’s office and the Department of Justice.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for maintaining a forward plan to manage Parliamentary processes, ensuring timely appointments and reports are processed efficiently.

This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.

You will work closely with staff across the organization, including the Director-General's Office and external agencies, to provide relevant executive and Ministerial documents.

A successful candidate will have experience in project management, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a forward plan to manage Parliamentary processes
  • Processing annual reports and other reports from government agencies and statutory bodies
  • Registering and monitoring requests for speaking engagements
  • Maintaining and monitoring incoming local issues of interest
  • Managing and processing parliamentary questions
  • Preparing briefing notes and further responses as required by the Attorney General
  • Managing estimates questions on notice for the Minister
  • Managing petitions pertinent to the Attorney-General and the Department of Justice
  • Tabling matters to be heard in parliament
  • Leading the effective management and continuous improvement of parliamentary services procedures
  • Managing projects as directed by the Director, Executive Services Branch
