Chief Executive Officer of the Torres Strait Regional Authority

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to fill the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Torres Strait Regional Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the organization in its mission to promote the unique culture of Torres Strait Islanders and provide services to Indigenous people in the region.

About the Role

The Chief Executive Officer will be accountable to the elected membership of the Torres Strait Regional Authority and will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve the organization's objectives
  • Leading a team of experienced professionals to deliver high-quality services to Indigenous people
  • Building collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and individuals
  • Managing infrastructure programs and promoting economic development in the region
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have:

  • A strong track record in executive roles and senior strategic and operational management experience
  • A commitment to effective public sector performance and a strong understanding of legislation and key policy issues relevant to the Torres Strait region
  • Demonstrated capacity to work closely with the private sector to promote economic development in the region
  • Experience in managing infrastructure programs and a strong understanding of Indigenous affairs

The successful candidate will receive a six-figure remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position. The package will include a competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities for professional development.
