**Job Description**
The Manager of Library Services is responsible for the entire library team at a given campus. This position addresses strategic issues, manages and delivers facilities, services, and resources in support of academic programs and research activities.
This role plays a significant part in training staff and students in information skills. The University has adopted a digital library strategy to make information resources accessible 24/7.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, lead, and motivate the library services staff to meet strategic targets through recruitment, training, documentation, process improvement, and performance planning.
- Contribute to the management team's strategic planning and formulate the library's response to drivers and initiatives in higher education.
- Monitor and evaluate collections and their usage to ensure teaching and learning needs are met.
- Ensure the library services staff are aware of strategic directions, academic units, institutes, and centers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, with experience in implementing contemporary library services and impacting a positive customer experience.
- Extensive management experience, with the ability to lead and develop teams in a complex environment.
- Well-developed strategic and problem-solving skills, including innovation and creativity in providing advice and solutions.
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including liaison with senior academics and educational support staff.
