About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Safety Auditor to join our team at the Qantas Group. As a key member of our Assurance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our operations across the Qantas Group of Airlines, including the Jetstar Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute the delivery of audits, safety reviews, and assurance activities to support continuous improvement and ongoing compliance.
  • Provide expert advice and support to stakeholders across the Qantas Group on operational safety, risk management, and process optimisation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance the safety and compliance of our operations.
  • Prepare and present high-quality management reports and insights on risk and improvement opportunities.
Requirements
  • Experience in aviation operations, including flight operations, cabin, airport, and ground operations or engineering.
  • Professional aviation management or safety qualifications.
  • Sound knowledge of the Aviation Regulatory Framework.
  • Completion of a Lead Auditor course is desirable.
  • Previous experience in safety audit, risk management, and the application of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Knowledge of the IATA Operational Safety Audit Program (IOSA).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills at a senior level.
