Job Description

This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing in Term 4, 2025 with possible extension at Hedland Senior High School. Our school prides itself on the staff's commitment to a system of positive behaviour supports which focus on care, courtesy, respect and responsibility.

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a passionate and supportive individual with experience in working with Aboriginal students to help students reach their potential academically, culturally, personally and socially. The role of the Program Coordinator involves:

  • Identifying appropriate students for participation
  • Case managing each student including monitoring and supporting their school progress
  • Fostering a sense of belonging
  • Working closely with parents, families and teachers to ensure student academic success and general wellbeing
Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will ideally be resourceful, organised, collaborative and be able to identify needs of students. Additionally, they will show an understanding of the program intent, requirements, and an appreciation of issues regarding Aboriginal education and cultural perspectives.

  • Demonstrated capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings
  • High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students
