About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled compliance professional to join our Financial Crime Compliance team as a Business Support Advisor.
This role is a key part of our broader Group Risk function and acts as the primary point of contact for all business-as-usual (BAU) financial crime compliance matters.
You'll provide expert advice across the organisation, ensuring obligations under the AML/CTF Act and internal FCC frameworks are understood, managed, and embedded into day-to-day operations.
This is a generalist role that spans all areas of the organisation, ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys working autonomously, and is passionate about continuous improvement and process optimisation.
- Provide independent review, advice, and challenge on BAU matters to ensure compliance with AML/CTF, FATCA/CRS, and internal FCC policies.
- Support Retail, Business Bank, and Treasury teams with Product and Channel Risk Assessments (PCRAs), Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessments (EWRA), and Product Risk Reviews (PRRs).
- Assess issues and incidents for materiality and report significant matters to AUSTRAC.
- Contribute to insightful reporting on FCC risk profiles, incidents, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.
- Build strong, transparent relationships with internal stakeholders across the business.
- Collaborate with other areas of Compliance to support the design and implementation of frameworks, policies, and processes.
- Champion Compliance's Purpose and Ways of Working across the organisation.
- Stay informed on regulatory developments and proactively advise on implications for the business.
About You
You're a confident and adaptable compliance professional with a strong foundation in financial crime obligations, including AUSTRAC regulation and the AML/CTF Act.
You bring a deep understanding of banking operations across retail, business, and treasury, and have a knack for simplifying complex regulatory matters.
You thrive in ambiguity, are comfortable making independent decisions, and are passionate about continuous improvement and optimising processes.
Your ability to engage and influence stakeholders, deliver high-quality work, and identify areas needing deeper analysis makes you a trusted advisor in a transforming and fast-paced environment.
Additionally, you embody our values by being bold, curious, and collaborative—driving meaningful change while keeping our customers and communities at the heart of everything you do.
