Custom Engineering Solutions Manager

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our team in delivering customised solutions for our customers. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mobile plant, mining, or heavy industry and the ability to translate between sales intent, customer requirements, and engineering execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the engineering lead during major projects, consulting on scope, feasibility, and compliance
  • Review and convert complex project documentation into clear engineering scopes
  • Partner with Sales and Product Managers to standardise design specifications and custom machine configurations
  • Support Engineering planning through regular updates on ongoing projects, resource allocation, and resourcing impacts
  • Engage suppliers to ensure all third-party modifications meet regulatory standards and health and safety legislation
  • Drive continuous improvement in the Engineering design request engagement process
  • Champion quality, safety, and compliance in all custom engineering activities

What we're looking for:

  • A degree-qualified engineer with 8-15 years' experience in mobile plant, mining, or heavy industry
  • A deep understanding of custom engineering, design specifications, and the challenges of machine modification
  • Strong communication skills - able to translate between sales intent, customer requirements, and engineering execution
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-visibility role interfacing with executives, customers, and suppliers - Skilled in navigating ambiguity and bringing structure to complex commercial/technical challenges
  • Proven ability to lead and develop small technical teams
  • Confident in setting structure, expectations, and coaching engineers in cross-functional environments
