Job Title

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals to residents, ensuring that all food safety protocols are followed and maintained at all times. You will also engage with residents during mealtime, providing companionship and support, and work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in food service or a kitchen environment, particularly in aged care, and possess strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents and staff. You will also be required to complete food safety training or certification, often required by local health regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Food Handling Certification: Completion of food safety training or certification.
  • Experience: Previous experience in food service or a kitchen environment, especially in aged care.
  • Knowledge of Dietary Needs: Understanding of nutritional requirements and dietary restrictions common in aged care.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills to interact effectively with residents and staff.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
