Quality Assurance Specialist for Radio Telescope Project

Ventia is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) Project in Australia. This prestigious project aims to build the world's largest radio telescope network, featuring critical infrastructure and technical innovation.
About the RoleThis role involves overseeing Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC), ensuring service excellence across multiple work fronts. You will collaborate closely with subcontractors and the project management team to implement project-specific management plans, including Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) protocols.
Responsibilities- Review QA documents from subcontractors to ensure compliance with required specifications.
- Arrange and witness Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) as required for fabrication works.
- Conduct quality inspections and contribute to maintaining Ventia's internal audit schedule.
- Raise non-conformances and oversee corrective actions through the Non-Conformance Management (NCM) process.
- Develop Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and checklists.
- Gather data for process optimisation, developing procedures and reports.
- Ensure quality between subcontractors and clients during various activities throughout the Project Lifecycle, in accordance with Handover Takeover (HOTO).
- Extensive experience as a Quality Advisor in major construction projects.
- Experience with Mechanical or Structural Fabrication.
- Proven ability to research information and find solutions.
- Monitoring and reporting on all activities, processes, and procedures.
- Developing internal auditing tools and conducting internal audits.
- Experience influencing and leading work crews in a challenging construction environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, be well organised, and complete projects on or ahead of time.
- Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Certified Lead or Internal Auditor in quality management systems.
We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a site allowance. Additionally, you will have opportunities to expand your career in an iconic and globally impactful project.
