Early Childhood Educator Role Description

This position focuses on enhancing the future of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children through high-quality early childhood education and care. You will collaborate with a dedicated team committed to delivering evidence-based programs that support children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that supports the cultural identity, safety, and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and community.
  • Integrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, values, and cultural knowledge into daily practice.
  • Deliver high-quality education and care in line with relevant legislation, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Work under the guidance of Diploma or Degree-qualified educators to implement learning experiences that promote children's development.
  • Contribute observations of children's learning and behaviour to assist Diploma or Degree-qualified educators in documenting and planning programs.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Certificate III qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care.
  2. Valid Employee Victorian Working with Children Check.
  3. Current First Aid and CPR certification (including Asthma and Anaphylaxis management).
  4. Current Driver's Licence and National Police Check.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate a strong commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and communities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
