Job Title: Senior Legal Assistant

The role of a Senior Legal Assistant is a vital one in supporting the teams of solicitors who provide legal advice and representation for the child protection program. This position involves working alongside the Metropolitan South Moorabbin team, performing file and record management tasks, coordinating court listings and case allocations, barrister briefing, and assisting with legal correspondence.

This role provides wide-ranging support to all staff as a member of the statewide paralegal team. Duties may include data entry into matter management systems, preparing matter management reports, and providing administrative assistance to lawyers.

The Senior Legal Assistant will be required to communicate sensitively and effectively with key stakeholders from diverse organisations. The role may also involve travel to various Children's Court locations to support legal teams.

  • Provide administrative assistance with office processes, including data entry, documentation management, and invoice processing.
  • Answer queries, provide timely advice, and undertake general follow-up actions as required.
  • Assist solicitors in managing child protection litigation.

To be successful in this role, you will require strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
