Secure ICT Leadership Role

We are seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the delivery, integration, and sustainment of secure high-performance ICT systems in support of Australian Defence Force mission planning capability. This is a key leadership position responsible for managing both the technical direction and day-to-day operations of network and server environments across fixed and deployed Defence contexts.

About the Job
This role involves leading a team of skilled technicians to maintain and evolve critical infrastructure including physical servers, networking hardware, system configurations, and software environments. You will provide technical leadership across system imaging, security compliance, scripting, and data support while ensuring alignment with Defence ICT accreditation standards and operational requirements.

You will be responsible for managing performance, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. This position is ideal for an experienced systems leader with a strong understanding of Defence ICT environments and a passion for delivering secure, mission-ready infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of technicians in the development, integration, and sustainment of software, hardware, data, tools, and processes for ADF mission planning systems in fixed and deployed environments.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set team objectives, and foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture
  • Oversee the maintenance of physical server and networking hardware, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Manage the development and maintenance of system configurations for MPS laptops and servers
  • Coordinate the installation, configuration, testing, and deployment of software and security updates
  • Provide technical leadership for resolving data support issues and ensuring mission systems meet operational requirements

Qualifications and Skills Required

Essential:
  • Defence ICT environments (including Defence Protected Environment (DPE) and Defence Secret Environment (DSE)
  • MS Windows Imaging
  • MS Windows security
  • MS Windows Server Platforms
  • Technical/Admin level experience with client operating systems from MS Windows
  • MS Windows Office products
  • Software Scripting
  • Defence ICT Security Accreditation requirements
