Business Turnaround and Restructuring Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Business Turnaround and Restructuring Specialist to join our national team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with underperforming businesses, determining the best path forward – fix, sell, or exit.

Our team is renowned for its expertise and national approach, supporting clients through operational turnarounds, financial restructuring, and formal insolvency processes. We preserve and restore value for clients, stakeholders, and their businesses.

Your Opportunity
  • Be part of high-profile engagements across advisory, restructuring, and formal insolvency.
  • Help clients navigate complex situations, protecting value throughout the process.
  • Support clients in conducting due diligence, financial analysis, cash flow modelling, and project actions to deliver exceptional outcomes.
  • Build trusted partnerships, providing scenario planning, going concern analysis, and guiding clients on their duties and obligations.
  • Utilize data analytics to diagnose issues and design integrated solutions.
Requirements
  • A balanced professional with analytical skills and commercial acumen, able to connect with people and drive problem-solving.
  • Experience across turnaround, restructuring, formal insolvency, and/or private credit, relevant to the level of the role.
  • Capable of engaging with clients to communicate key issues and options to solve.
  • Skillful in linking data analysis to identifying key issues, presenting them succinctly and visually, and devising strategies to deliver consensual outcomes.
  • Confident in preparing marketing proposals, pitch packs, and conducting analysis to evaluate opportunities.
  • Proven ability to work well in a national, collaborative team environment, learning from peers and supporting team growth.

  • Recent experience in Big-4, mid-tier, or independent corporate advisory firms.
  • Proven experience across turnaround, restructuring, insolvency, private credit, or related areas.
  • Post-secondary qualifications relevant to the role; ideally pursuing or holding a postgraduate qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, CFA, ARITA, or TMA certification).
  • Ability to prepare reports and presentations and deliver financial analysis.
  • Strategic problem-solving and ability to unpack operational inefficiencies to improve performance.
  • Proficiency in Excel to interpret and model data and generate insights.
