**Role Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the development of strategic land use planning policy and projects in our region.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex planning initiatives, working with state and regional planning policy, and developing high-quality advice on planning matters.

They will also possess strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and public speaking abilities, and a passion for shaping growth in positive ways that reflect the character, lifestyle, environment, and community values of the region.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • - Coordinating activities of the Regional Planning Team as one of three teams within the Strategic Planning Branch.
  • - Representing Council's interests and coordinating involvement in regional planning projects and planning reform initiatives led by other levels of government.
  • - Providing support to the preparation and ongoing maintenance of the planning scheme and related planning instruments.
  • - Collaborating with Councillors, staff, key industry stakeholders, other levels of government, and the community about land use planning policy, programs, and strategies.
  • - Preparing high-quality advice on regional and other planning matters, as well as timely reports on team progress and activities.

You will be a motivated and experienced strategic land use planning professional with a proven track record of managing complex planning projects and initiatives. You will have a passion for the Sunshine Coast and a strong desire to contribute to shaping growth in positive ways that reflect the region's unique character and values.
