We are seeking an experienced Strategic Land Planner to join our team in the Planning and Place Making Department.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a range of experience in strategic land use planning, with excellent communication skills and the ability to provide technical advice on planning concepts.

Main Responsibilities:
  • SUPPORT THE DELIVERY OF STRATEGIC PLANNING PROJECTS:
    • Support the delivery of strategic planning projects involving research and analysis, key stakeholder engagement, and preparing reports and documents
    • Provide technical input into the development and implementation of key policy relating to the planning scheme, infrastructure planning, significant major projects and key placemaking activities
  • PROVIDE ROUTINE TECHNICAL ADVICE:
    • Provide routine technical advice relating to strategic land use planning matters in accordance with legislative, policy and business requirements
  • CONTRIBUTE TO KEY POLICY DEVELOPMENT:
    • Provide input into the review and updating of key policy relating to the planning scheme, including assisting with the plan making process and associated community consultation activities
Requirements:

To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A degree in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent qualification
  • Well-developed research and analytical skills and the ability to prepare technical reports and documentation
  • Knowledge and experience in planning and urban design processes, relevant state and local government legislation and statutory plans
