Our team is seeking a strategic engagement specialist to support business development across government sectors.

About the Role

The Policy and Government Lead plays a critical role in mapping and interpreting policy across all levels of government, providing actionable insights for internal science-based teams.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and map relevant government policies, programs, and priorities to inform internal planning and strategy.
  • Support the development of project proposals, business cases, and strategic documents by translating policy and program information into actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver integrated services and projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, track deliverables, and contribute to reporting and communication activities.

Selection Criteria

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with or across government agencies, with a strong understanding of public sector structures and policy processes.
  • Able to communicate complex policy and program information to science-based teams to inform strategic planning and business development.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to project proposals and business cases.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with stakeholders across government, industry, and community sectors.
  • Experience supporting business development activities, including identifying opportunities and assisting in funding proposals.
