Job Title: Senior Governance Specialist

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Governance Specialist to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

  • Lead the development of policy and implementation options to embed Gender Responsive Budgeting in legislation, for consideration by Government.
  • Lead interjurisdictional research to support policy development.
  • Manage the preparation of documents such as policy discussion papers, briefings for senior executives and Government including material for Cabinet, and stakeholder communications.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders within the Department and across the Victorian Public Sector to build support and constructive engagement as options for legislative change are developed.
  • Identify solutions to issues and be a key contributor in the development of products such as capability development materials.
  • Confidently represent the Department at forums and establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the Department, and across departments and agencies, often at senior levels.
About You

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering outcomes through the provision of high-quality advice to senior management or government on policy and legislative options.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, finding new ways to deliver outcomes.
  • Ability to constructively engage with stakeholders to ensure relevant perspectives are incorporated into policy options and legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing written information and analysis at an advanced level for decision makers, with content and style appropriate to the audience.
