Lead Lived Experience Workforce Development Manager

This position is responsible for leading a team in managing a large program of work that ensures lived and living experience workforces employed in mental health and alcohol and drug services have the necessary structures and supports to thrive.

You will collaborate with consumers, their families, carers, supports, lived and living experience workforces, colleagues, and employing services to address Royal Commission recommendations and collective priorities for lived and living experience workforces.

Collaboration with system steward organisations and sector partners is key in developing and implementing lived and living experience leadership and workforce policies and strategies.

The role creates structures and processes supporting lived and living experience workforce initiatives developed in partnership with people with lived and living experience and other stakeholders.

This exciting role is critical in implementing recommendations from the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health and Wellbeing System, ensuring lived experience is embedded across the reformed system.

About You
  • Able to manage workforce programs or related fields with strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in leading the development of lived and living experience workforces is essential.
  • Drive to reform Victoria's mental health system to support better outcomes for consumers, families, carers, kin, and people with experience of substance use or addiction.
  • Able to confidentially lead a team to manage a large program of initiatives.
  • Skill in co-design and co-production in various settings.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members to achieve program goals.
