Job Summary

This position is a pivotal part of governing enterprise-wide investment planning and approval processes, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and operational priorities.

The leader will oversee the Integrated Investment Plan development and maintenance, facilitate efficient investment approvals, and establish a framework for benefits realisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end enterprise investment planning process ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and operational priorities.
  • Maintain and update the Enterprise Demand Register reflecting current and emerging investment needs.
  • Facilitate prioritisation of investment initiatives based on balanced assessment of business value, strategic alignment, risk exposure, and delivery constraints.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise the investment portfolio through initiative alignment, bundling, and sequencing.
  • Provide critical input into the organisation's annual budget cycle and 5-Year Outlook by translating investment priorities into financial forecasts.
  • Govern and manage the enterprise investment approval process ensuring efficiency, scalability, and fit-for-purpose across varying investment types and sizes.
  • Support funding request preparation and review from major programs and projects ensuring alignment with governance standards and strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate with key governance forums to facilitate timely and informed investment decisions.
  • Ensure approval processes are clearly documented, consistently applied, and continuously improved.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive framework for identifying, assessing, and tracking investment benefits.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in enterprise portfolio management, investment governance, or strategic planning within complex environments.
  • In-depth understanding of investment lifecycle processes including demand management, prioritisation, business case development, and benefits realisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional planning and governance forums influencing senior stakeholders and driving consensus.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills synthesising complex information and presenting clear insights.
  • Proficiency in enterprise portfolio management tools and data-driven decision making.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills tailoring messaging for executive, technical, and operational audiences.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and embed best practices in governance, reporting, and investment management.
