Job Overview:
A skilled Nurse Midwife Educator is required to provide education and training support to wards, units, community programs, or specific groups of staff. This role involves leading education initiatives within a dedicated portfolio of training and development, coordinating and contributing to projects, programs, and research to drive improvements in educational outcomes and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive education programs for nursing and midwifery professionals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning needs and develop strategies to address them.
- Design and implement evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness of education programs.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to education and training.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post-registration experience.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in nursing/midwifery education or staff development.
- Experience in the use of computer packages, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel.
- Experience working with and understanding of people from varying cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal Torres Strait Islanders.
- Demonstrated ability to apply relevant education theory to nursing/midwifery education and practice.
