About the RoleThe Nurse Educator (Grade 2) is responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of education programs to meet the needs of staff working within clinical environments. The role collaborates with the Nursing Unit Managers, Nurse Manager Perioperative Services, Stream Manager and the Nurse Manager for Education to ensure equitable access to educational support and resources and to enhance clinical competence. Education portfolios/programs are developed in partnership with the Nursing Education Department and are current and evidence-based.
Responsibilities- Assess, develop, implement and evaluate education programs for staff in clinical environments.
- Collaborate with Nursing Unit Managers, Nurse Manager Perioperative Services, Stream Manager and Nurse Manager for Education.
- Ensure equitable access to educational support and resources to enhance clinical competence.
- Incorporate evidence-based practice in the development of curriculum, programs, policies and procedures within the clinical environment and broader organisation.
- Oversee education portfolios/programs in collaboration with the Nursing Education Department and ensure education is current and based on the best available evidence.
- Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant postgraduate education qualifications or relevant postgraduate clinical qualifications with a Cert IV in Training and Assessment (or working towards).
- Comprehensive clinical knowledge and experience in an acute care Perioperative environment.
- Ability to integrate theoretical knowledge and clinical skills and to develop, implement and evaluate education programs using innovative educational strategies, including e-learning.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
