Nurse Educator - Temporary Fulltime - Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital
The Role

The Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital (SSEH) provides general and specialist health care to the public and the community including 24-hour emergency care services, acute/chronic general medicine, perioperative services, day procedure surgery, surgical hand. The Hospital is a quaternary referral centre for eye health conditions and disorders, providing eye emergency care and the delivery of extended diagnostic capabilities and treatments for complex eye conditions requiring ophthalmic care management. Additionally, SSEH's Hand Unit is a tertiary referral centre for hand trauma, abnormalities and diseases of the hand.
As a Nurse Educator in SESLHD you will be responsible for providing nursing education, training and professional development in a range of contexts and environments in the health sector. You will be responsible for the efficient and effective provision and evaluation of education, training and professional development for the new and existing staff.
As the Nurse Educator you will be recognised as a visible leader and role model for nurses and midwives across Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital within SESLHD.

Nurse Educator Grade 3 is responsible for:
A comprehensive nursing/midwifery education program across a Local Health District, a sector of a Local Health District or in a tertiary referral public hospital or affiliated health organisation.

Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital is steeped in history, with a legacy of nursing and medical firsts to its credit and has paved the way in many clinical areas - both nationally and internationally.
Sydney Hospital is Australia's first hospital and dates from the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788.
Today, Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospitals' state of the art facilities and professional staff provide a unique blend of general and specialist medical services for the public and community, including a 24 hour emergency services, general medicine including close observation unit, perioperative services, specialist hand and eye surgery.
The Hospital is in the heart of the Central Business District in Sydney.:

· The Light rail is a walking distance on George St and the metro station
· Walking distance Ferry terminal at Circular Quay

Selection criteria
Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and current NSW Driver's License and willingness to travel as required in role.Holding post registration nursing/midwifery clinical or education qualifications relevant to the clinical area or areas in which he/she is to be appointed, or qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer.Demonstrated and recent experience in the development of practice.Demonstrated effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, facilitation, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.Demonstrated ability to analyse verbal and written communication and make decisions or inferences from the data, including an ability to analyse complex numerical data and draw logical conclusions.Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and training programs.Demonstrated understanding of contemporary adult learning principles and how these apply to learning in a health care setting.Computer literacy and understanding of relevant information systemsNeed more information?
