This is an exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Medical Administration Registrar. You will undertake formal Fellowship training and provide high-quality practical medical administration and healthcare management services. As part of our team, you will contribute towards decision-making on issues with a health service wide impact while being supported by the Director of Medical Services.
This position is offered on a temporary full-time or part-time basis for a period of twelve months with opportunity for extension.
The Position
Responsibilities- Contribute to strategic decision-making on health service matters
- Lead organizational change and effectively deliver all clinical services
- Provide expert advice on medical issues and standards of clinical practice across the organization. Promote high standards of medical practice and related professional services within our network. Develop and implement policies and procedures and appropriate credentialing processes. Evaluate performance in relation to clinical standards and patient care.
- Participate in training activities to enhance knowledge and skills in medical administration
- Work closely with the Director of Medical Services and Medical Administration unit to provide day-to-day medical administrative services as needed
- Manage or take an active role in projects that benefit our organization
- Involvement in financial planning, budgeting, and operational finance activities such as activity and cost centre management
- Attend and contribute to internal committee meetings e.g. Divisional Management Committee, Clinical Risk and Quality, Specialist groups (including Mortality Review) & Credentialing
- Liaise with internal and external healthcare professionals as required when managing projects
- A satisfactory progression towards the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Medical Administrators
- Active involvement in relevant education and training activities within the health service, state and nationally
Eligibility and Qualifications
Requirements- Eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia and intention to progress towards Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Medical Administrators
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a range of medical, surgical and acute care disciplines
- Highly developed interpersonal communication and negotiation skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

You will be expected to progress towards Fellowship and participate in relevant education and training activities within the health service, state and nationally.
