We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Casual Support Worker.

This role involves working on a casual basis across our 24/7 Supported Independent Living residential program, providing support to individuals with psychosocial disabilities, intellectual disability, and/or mental health needs. You will be responsible for assisting clients with daily activities, building their capacity and independence, and supporting them with their recovery journey.

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a 'can-do' attitude, adaptability, and a willingness to learn. They will also be able to work independently and within a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow a plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily activities, such as domestic, health, social, and community access
  • Build rapport and manage challenging behaviors by following established plans
  • Provide support to attend regular meetings with case managers and health professionals
  • Write accurate case notes and record them using the online client management system
  • Enable the social inclusion of clients in the community
  • Maintain infection control measures and adapt to evolving Covid-19 requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for supporting people with psychosocial disabilities, intellectual disability, and/or mental health needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 'Can-do' attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to follow a plan, and creative thinking
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Right to work in Australia
  • A current driver's license and confidence driving in Sydney
  • Valid NDIS Check or willingness to obtain
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Your own smartphone/device to access apps for managing work information (training will be provided)
  • Availability for different shifts across our 24/7 operating hours (e.g. nights, weekends, etc.)
  • Covid-19 vaccination certificate (plus booster when eligible)
