Job Overview:

The Junior Sewing Assistant – Hand Detailing role is a part-time opportunity to support our luxury atelier team in Sydney. This position involves assisting with the couture finishing process, ensuring each gown is beautifully detailed and ready for fittings and client handovers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Hand sewing hems, linings, invisible stitches, and gown finishing
  • Beading and embellishment on high-end couture laces
  • Preparing gowns for fittings and handovers (notes, files, gown organization)
  • Following instructions and working closely with the atelier team
Essential Skills:
  • Proven hand-sewing skills
  • Ability to work with delicate fabrics (lace, silk, Mikado, tulle)
  • Knowledge of beading and couture lace techniques
  • Strong attention to detail, patience, and precision
  • Effective communication skills for gown prep and handover files
  • Reliability, punctuality, and ability to provide references from previous work
