Key Responsibilities:
Prepare high-quality meals for our customers
Collaborate with the team to design new menu items
Assist in estimating stock requirements
Streamline processes between wait staff and kitchen staff
Duties:
Maintain food preparation areas, adhering to hygiene standards, and regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment
Set up staff workstations with necessary ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare cooking ingredients (measure ingredients, chop and peel vegetables, and cut meat)
Inspect food items to guarantee quality
Maintain customer expectations and accommodate guests with allergies
Monitor ingredient quality for freshness and store in temperature-controlled facilities
Monitor stock levels and place orders
Liaise with front-of-house staff to ensure hot food is served
Operate kitchen appliances and cooking apparatus
Portion food, place it on plates, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes according to expectations
Supervise and may train other kitchen staff and apprentices
Requirements:
Experience in a busy restaurant with great food
A team player with a positive and professional communication style
A cook with a passion for Italian cuisine
Exceptional attention to detail
Adherence to health and safety standards
Qualifications:
AQF associate degree, Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma certification in relevant Hospitality qualification
Prior experience as a Cook
Ability to work Full Time
Flexible to work on a rotating roster
