About the Role:

This is a Part Time Permanent position within the Occupational Therapy department at The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention services to inpatient and/or outpatient infants, children and adolescents, to support child development and maximise participation in daily activities and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with patients and their families and the multidisciplinary team to provide assessment of function and developmental needs and interventions that facilitate care plans and appropriate discharge.
  • Provide evidence-based and outcome-focused intervention that makes an impact on meaningful outcomes for infants, children and young adults during their individual healthcare journey.

Requirements:

  • Recognised graduate-entry qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor, Masters or Doctorate).
  • Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current National Criminal Record Check, or willingness to obtain.
  • Valid Working with Children Check.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain.
  • Compliance with RCH's 'Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases' procedure.

About the Department:

The Occupational Therapy department is within the Division of Ambulatory Services. We provide inpatient and outpatient services for infants, children, adolescents with a wide range of medical conditions. Our team works closely with families, carers, community services and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best occupational therapy outcomes for our patients.
