Senior Mental Health Clinician

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our Emergency Mental Health Team at the Royal Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively with the Emergency Department staff to manage mental health presentations, provide support to families and carers, and contribute to research and evaluation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality recovery-focused care to children, adolescents, and their families through assessment and intervention.
- Lead by example, modelling a high standard of professional and interpersonal skills, attitudes, and behaviours.
- Build and maintain relationships with Emergency Department staff, Consultant Psychiatrists, and community agencies to maximise service coordination and cooperation.
- Complete accurate, timely, and professional clinical record keeping and documentation.
Requirements:
- Current registration as an Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, or Registered Nurse with the applicable Health Practitioner Board or a qualified Social Worker.
- Experience working with families and carers in a mental health setting.
- Ability to build and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Capacity to provide systemic containment, education, and support to medical systems of care, DFFHS, and youth residential care services.

The Royal Children's Hospital provides urgent medical care to children and adolescents, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department is staffed by a medical team, nurse practitioners, nursing team, clerical, allied health, and administrative staff.
