Job Description

The Manager Human Resources is responsible for leading a specialized HR function or all Human Resource activities and functions for a defined operating region and/or functional business group. This position is a Manager role. The role directly reports to Sr. Manager, Director, or Sr. Director of HR.

This position routinely interacts with internal Operations & Function Managers, Executive Management, Professional Staff, Craft Employees, and Corporate Function Leads; and external Clients, Customers, and Technical/Professional Advisors.

Responsibilities
  1. HR leadership position for a specialized HR function or holistic functional HR business support for a geographic area or functional group, including staffing, employee/labor relations, T&OD, total rewards, employee engagement, DE&I initiatives, regulatory compliance, employment risk management, onboarding, terminations, and all HR administrative activities.
  2. Development of direct reports with maintained succession plan for role
  3. Develop and Manage department financial budgets
  4. Effectively coach and improve the performance of managers and supervisors
  5. Delivery of all company training programs and training initiatives
  6. Accountable for performance, talent, and succession management programs across area of remit
  7. Provide support for timekeeping and payroll processing
  8. Produce and analyze HR reports, reach conclusions, or make recommendations to achieve business goals.
  9. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and HR functional performance
  10. Manage workforce planning activities, including forecast histograms and staffing plans
  11. Responsible for employee relations and direct interaction with skilled craft labor workforce; resolving all employee concerns in compliance with local laws and regulations
Qualifications

Typically 10-15 years since first degree and 8+ years of relevant HR experience

3+ years in a Manager role

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or equivalent years' of experience

Strong knowledge of Labor and Employment Laws for area of remit

SHRM or other HR professional certification preferred

Experienced in the delivery of training programs and materials preferred

Experience with labor relations and union environments

Experience and knowledge of the Engineering & Construction industry

Proficient Computer Skills - HRIS Databases and MS Office

Project site or construction craft HR experience preferred
