About this role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Practitioner to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated professional to make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality health care services, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatments.

They will work closely with a wide range of professionals and the public, as part of a team, to deliver comprehensive and holistic health care within the framework of the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) model of care.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to clients.
  • Work with a variety of professionals and the public to deliver effective health care services.
  • Implement and support a medical/primary health care team, effectively planning and coordinating workload to achieve results.
  • Use clinical software systems and other technology to deliver quality health care services.
  • Operate within Clinical Policy and Procedures at all times.
  • Develop productive working relationships with staff, facilitating cooperation, trust, and respect.

Requirements:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • Unconditional registration with AHPRA.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a medical practitioner in a general practice/primary health care setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes.
  • Decisive listening, influencing, and persuasive skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
  • Registered GP Supervisor.
  • Vocational Registration.
