Project Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Engineer to work on a major infrastructure upgrade project in NSW. This project involves the construction and upgrade of three major pump stations across Nyngan and Hermidale, including new river intakes, balance tanks, surge vessels, and mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring cost-effective construction methodologies and identifying improvement areas
  • Tracking project finances, reviewing costs vs budget, and highlighting margin impacts
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and teams to resolve technical, commercial, and scheduling issues
  • Understanding project scope and identifying contractual risks and opportunities
  • Preparing variations, claims, and subcontract agreements
  • Planning procurement activities, organising labour and equipment for supervisors
  • Ensuring materials and services meet QA requirements
  • Developing ITPs/ITCs, monitoring quality plans, and ensuring compliance
  • Assessing risks, implementing hazard controls, and supporting incident investigations
  • Promoting a strong safety culture through pre-starts and toolbox talks
  • Reviewing CEMP and environmental procedures before work begins
  • Maintaining QA documentation, managing project closeout, and finalizing defect claims

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 4+ years Project Engineering experience in the Construction Industry (Civil, Utilities, and Water Infrastructure projects highly desirable)
  • Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with people at all levels, and other stakeholders as required
  • Strong skills in using Microsoft Office software and other relevant computer applications
  • Pass a pre-employment medical and D&A
