Job Summary:

The Deli Fish Cutter is a critical position within our team, responsible for preparing raw fish for sale. This includes maintaining equipment and knives, sanitizing work areas and equipment, and providing excellent customer service.

  • Utilize precision cutting techniques to prepare raw fish for display
  • Monitor the quality and freshness of products to ensure high standards
  • Pack and wrap fish using automatic and manual wrapping machines
  • Label merchandise and place labelled/wrapped merchandise in display cases
  • Perform daily tasks such as rewrapping display cases, filling and rotating merchandise
  • Complete department paperwork and submit reports as required
  • Participate in weekly yield tests to optimize production efficiency
  • Foster a culture of quality and consistency throughout the department
  • Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cleaning and sanitation
  • Clean and sanitize work areas throughout the day to maintain a safe environment
  • Ensure compliance with health codes by following sanitation standards and maintaining proper temperatures
  • Remove waste from department areas and operate trash compactors and cardboard balers
  • Transfer cases of fish from coolers to preparation areas
  • Collaborate with other departments within the warehouse to achieve common goals
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to members, employees, and vendors
