Job Opportunity

This role presents an exciting chance to support patients within a Trauma Stream and clinical units at a leading hospital.

A Social Worker will be responsible for identifying and meeting the needs of specialist patients in collaboration with clinical units, focusing on complex cases. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this position, including negotiation, communication, both written and verbal. An ability to display flexibility in work practice and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team is crucial. This role requires consultation with various stakeholders and staff on patient care and comprehensive case work expertise.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical supervision to Grade 1 Social Work staff as per discipline and professional guidelines.
  • Mentoring Grade 1 Social Work Staff.
  • Participating in supervision from senior staff and professional development, work planning, and annual discussions.
  • Engaging actively in Professional Development Plans and modeling commitment to learning.
  • Actively participating in internal and external continuing education.
  • Assuming a Social work portfolio within the department.
  • Accessing information to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Supervising undergraduate Social Work Students through the Student and Teaching program.
  • Participating in social work student education in conjunction with senior staff.
  • Demonstrating ability to take on extra responsibilities as requested by supervisor or clinicians.
  • Assisting in raising the profile of the Social Work role.
  • Participating in continuous quality improvement activities and research within the clinical team and department as required.
