Research Officer - Indigenous Community Engagement

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Officer to support the evaluation of our service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait families.

About the Role

This is a short-term position that will involve conducting qualitative interviews with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parents who have accessed our service. You will work closely with a team of researchers and report to the Director of Research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit participants and conduct qualitative interviews to gather valuable insights into our service's effectiveness
  • Analyse qualitative data to inform project decisions and contribute to the development of evidence-based solutions
  • Liaise with stakeholders and actively participate in meetings and discussions as required
  • Coordinate, plan and complete day-to-day research activities within agreed timelines and responsibilities
Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures
  • Have established links with your local Aboriginal community
  • Hold relevant qualifications in health, health-related or community services discipline, or relevant experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills and experience conducting semi-structured interviews and qualitative analysis

Suitable candidates will possess strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
