**The Role**

The Indigenous Engagement Advisor will be responsible for the planning and delivery of MinRes' Indigenous engagement programs across our operations in the Yilgarn region.

You will play an integral role collaborating with site-based leaders and internal stakeholders to deliver cultural education and Indigenous engagement programs and events.

A key component of the role is having strong stakeholder engagements and maintain strong and mutually respectful relationships with Indigenous employees and community members and represent MinRes in Indigenous engagement events, whilst creating a safe and positive workplace culture that celebrates cultural diversity and creating positive economic opportunity and outcomes for Indigenous people.

For this position you will report directly to Principal Indigenous Engagement and be a regular 8/6 roster to support our site operations across our MinRes Yilgarn region.

**Key deliverables**:

- Build and sustain respectful relationships and partnerships with Indigenous community members and organisations.
- Drive positive Indigenous employee retention outcomes by coordinating the delivery and administration of MinRes' Indigenous engagement program.
- Proactively collaborate with site leaders, MinRes People, Health & Wellbeing, Training and Development teams to develop and deliver programs that create positive outcomes for Indigenous job-seekers and employees.
- Support MinRes Indigenous and Community programs and initiatives that provide Traditional Owners with economic opportunities.
- With attention to detail, regularly update and administer sustainability, IE program, and other reporting mechanisms within the required timeframes.
- Provide an advisory and coordination role for internal MinRes events, such as NAIDOC and RAP. Prepare and deliver cultural educational programs and communications to support MinRes' Indigenous engagement and cultural education programs. This may include procedures, inductions, pre-starts and leadership consultation.
- Establish respectful and positive relationships with regional and MinRes support services and organisations that support retention outcomes for Indigenous employees.
- Foster a positive and professional team and workplace culture that delivers outcomes as required, promotes safety, collaboration, inclusivity, and a problem-solving mindset.
- As directed, represent MinRes at community meetings, forums and events associated with Aboriginal Engagement.
- Promote positive engagement between internal stakeholders and Traditional Owner community leaders and employees, and other key partners.
- Create a safe working environment and maintain responsibility for complying with safe-working processes and procedures.

**What you'll bring to the team**
- Degree in a related discipline desirable but not essential
- 2+ years' experience in the mining and Resources industry is highly desirable
- Leadership experience with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong experience working with Aboriginal people, local communities and organisations
- Successfully working in agreements or community relations with responsibility for managing obligation and dispute resolution desirable.
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment with confidentiality and respect.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
- Well-developed communication skills

- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
