Housing Support Specialist Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housing Support Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for providing vital support services to individuals in need, ensuring their well-being and helping them achieve their goals.

About the Role:

Job Description:

  • Provide one-on-one counseling and support to residents, addressing their unique needs and concerns
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to help residents achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being
  • Collaborate with staff, community partners, and residents to identify and address barriers to success
  • Facilitate access to essential services, including housing, healthcare, and social services
  • Provide crisis intervention and harm reduction services as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on resident interactions, progress, and outcomes

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma in a related human/social service field (e.g., social work, counseling)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a similar role or relevant field
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong knowledge of local community resources and services
  • Certification in crisis intervention, harm reduction, and/or counseling an asset
