Job Overview

The Senior Consultant will be responsible for delivering on-site Red Hat Infrastructure solutions and offerings to our clients. This involves understanding their infrastructures and business needs to make recommendations that cater to their specific environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise as a trusted adviser to deliver the right solutions for our clients
  • Address customer technical, development, and IT issues and needs as a subject matter expert on site
  • Apply knowledge of new technologies to meet customer needs
  • Adapt to changing customer requirements
  • Manage technical problem identification and resolution, support system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions
  • Participate in internal initiatives, create consulting white papers, and update the knowledge base
  • Keep stakeholders updated on issues that may affect project or company performance
  • Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions, and handle sensitive conversations in a professional manner
  • Kick off new projects, guide the implementation team, and monitor the progress of a project
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with enterprise customers on a range of development and deployment projects
  • Experience with UNIX or Linux database administration and tuning
  • Extensive knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Extensive knowledge of other Infrastructure products including Ansible, Satellite, authentication services, virtualisation technologies, and Linux Security Practices and tools
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, project management, and planning skills
  • Practical experience with or knowledge of Python, Perl, and/or shell scripting language(s)
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification, or willingness to pursue certification within 90 days
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Australian Government security clearance
