Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Optical Network Development Engineer to play a key role in driving the stability and sustainability of next-generation IP networks. As part of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, deploying, and scaling the Amazon networks that support AWS, customers, and other business units across multiple global data centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with vendors/manufacturers to evaluate new hardware and software features, ensuring alignment with our technical requirements.
  • Create detailed implementation plans for incorporating these features into the network, prioritizing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and automate optical test plans to qualify optical modules, minimizing errors and improving quality.
  • Work closely with the network operations team to identify operational issues, implement improvements, and optimize the RMA process.

We are a dynamic team responsible for developing, delivering, and supporting the optical products used to interconnect AWS Data Centers and Points of Presence (PoPs). Our goal is to ensure diversity of supply, continually lower data transfer costs for customers, and drive innovation in optical networking.
