Greyhound Racing Integrity Unit Investigator

Greyhound racing is a vibrant, thriving sport with animal welfare at its core. Our Integrity Operations team is responsible for ensuring GRV registered participants comply with rules and regulations. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as investigators.

  • Work collaboratively with the Stewards Panel to identify risks, undertake investigations and complete matters.
  • Plan and coordinate regular risk-based operations throughout the state through proactive monitoring and targeting of properties with potential or identified risks.
  • Prepare comprehensive briefs of evidence within required time frames.
  • Liaise with key external partners, including RSPCA, Victoria Police and Local Government councils' animal welfare management teams.
  • Attend GRV race meetings regularly to provide a visible presence and demonstrate support for the Stewards Panel members.
  • Conduct inspections of properties where greyhounds are kept and trained.
  • Actively contribute to ongoing initiatives across GRIU.
  • Undertake other reasonable tasks as directed by the Investigation Manager.

Requirements:

We require candidates with extensive experience in preparing and presenting evidence in a tribunal setting. A minimum of 3 years' experience in an investigatory role in a regulatory environment is essential. Advanced professional written and oral communication skills, with strong report writing capability, are also required. Solid experience in dealing effectively with complex situations and difficult customers is necessary.

Candidates must be able to conduct themselves with integrity and in a professional and fair manner. A Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent is desirable.

Investigative stewards are required to perform duties throughout the state of Victoria and be available for after-hours work, weekends and public holidays.
