Role Overview

Senior Engineers drive AEMO's Distributed Energy Resources Technical Integration Team, guiding the transition to a net zero economy. Key responsibilities include defining technical requirements for distributed energy resources (DER), collaborating with industry to develop solutions, and addressing power system challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering and analysis to define technical requirements for DER.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to develop DER solutions that support a power system with high levels of DER.
  • Address power system challenges from increasing DER, including standards, compliance, and evolving behaviours.
  • Drive collaboration and stakeholder engagement, providing strategic advice to support an integrated approach.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to develop company positions on technical requirements.
  • Translate complex technical issues for executives, boards, and external stakeholders through reports, recommendations, and presentations.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Technology, or Science/Maths (with a power system focus), or equivalent relevant discipline or work experience.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office product suite.
Essential Skills
  • Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary projects in distributed energy.
  • Skilled in preparing, reviewing, and finalising high-quality technical documentation and reports.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and summarise complex data and insights.
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal) across diverse audiences and stakeholders.
  • Proactive, outcome-focused, and able to build constructive relationships.
