Key Responsibilities
As a Consultant in Anaesthetics, you will collaborate with the Director of Anaesthesia to ensure the delivery of top-tier anaesthesia services, focusing on safety, reliability, and efficiency.

  • Deliver comprehensive anaesthesia services, both clinical and administrative, adhering to established clinical practices and guidelines.
  • Conduct acute pain service rounds, pre-anaesthetic assessments, and provide anaesthesia for various surgical and medical procedures.
  • Participate in the on-call roster for after-hours and weekend duties.
  • This role will primarily be situated in a key regional hospital but may require providing anaesthesia support to surrounding facilities as needed.

About the Facility
The hospital is a well-equipped 305-bed institution, recognized as the main referral center for the region, now offering integrated cancer care services in a newly constructed facility featuring advanced medical technology.

The anaesthesia department boasts four operating theatres and two procedure rooms, supported by an intensive care unit. The department is accredited for specialist training and actively engages in educational and research initiatives.

The anaesthesia team is committed to providing exceptional care across various specialties, including obstetrics, gynaecology, orthopaedics, and more. The department also supports training for multiple medical professionals.

Qualifications
Candidates must be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the relevant medical board and hold fellowship status with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or possess equivalent qualifications from recognized overseas training programs.
