Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
As a Consultant in Anaesthetics, you will work closely with the Director of Anaesthesia to ensure the delivery of high-quality anaesthesia services that are safe, reliable, and efficient.

  • Deliver comprehensive anaesthesia services, adhering to established clinical practices and guidelines.
  • Conduct assessments and provide anaesthesia for a variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
  • Participate in the on-call roster, providing after-hours support as needed.
  • This role will primarily be based in the main facility but may involve providing services to other locations as required.

About the Facility
Our hospital is a well-equipped 305-bed facility, recognized as the primary referral center in the region, offering advanced cancer care services in a newly constructed building with state-of-the-art medical technology.

The facility features four operating theatres and two procedure rooms, supported by an intensive care unit. The anaesthesia department is accredited for specialist training and actively engages in teaching and research initiatives.

The anaesthesia team provides exceptional care across various specialties, including obstetrics, orthopaedics, and gastroenterology, and is involved in preadmission clinics and acute pain management services.

Qualifications
Candidates must be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the relevant medical board and hold a fellowship from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or possess equivalent qualifications from recognized overseas training programs.
