This is a temporary part-time position (0.4 EFT) with flexible days and hours available until 01 May 2026.

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to support the delivery of Council's communication and engagement activities across traditional and digital platforms. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting media releases, website updates, and social media content.
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of community engagement initiatives and Council's online engagement tool, Your Wellington Your Say.
  • Supporting internal and external communication/engagement plans to ensure key messages are clear and consistent.
  • Helping to maintain Council's brand and reputation through quality content and engagement.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience or interest in communications, public relations, or community engagement.
  • Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills.
  • Confidence using digital platforms (experience with digital engagement/survey tools and Canva/Adobe Creative Cloud an advantage).
  • A collaborative, team-focused approach.
